Diamond, pink sapphire, and pariaba tourmaline necklace, Michele Della Valle.
By Becky Cole on March 18, 2013
This necklace is my favorite piece of Michele Della Valle's whimsical work that I've featured on the blog so far. No one who knows me will be shocked by the color scheme that is about to happen.
Yes, it looks like cotton candy. Yes, it is what the queen My Little Pony would wear. I don't care. It is the prettiest, and I love it.
This necklace is designed as a gently graduated line set with oval paraiba tourmalines and circular-cut pink sapphires highlighted with brilliant-cut diamonds.
Not only is it extra-super-pretty (this is going to be the level of writing today, deal with it) but it's really impressive from a gemstone standpoint. Those minty jewels are pariaba tourmalines, which are rare.
This silly, wonderful thing was listed in Sotheby's July 2011 Fine Jewels sale. All images and info are thanks to Sotheby's.
Don't miss any of the fabulousness! Follow me here or find me on my blog, Diamonds in the Library, or on Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, or Tumblr.
