As I sat at the computer this morning enjoying my cup of coffee I routinuely began to sift through the tech that is now my life- email, facebook, twitter, blogs. It was almost mechanical and smooth sailing until I stumbled across an article on "The Business Insider- Silicon Alley Insider" that talked about a new start up website that allows users to post comments about any ten-digit phone number- dirtyphonebook.com. Needless to say I was quite suprised at what I found upon visiting dirtyphonebook.com. After exploring some of the numbers I immediately checked my own with an insane feeling of nervousness and anxiety about what could or what was said about me. The site is composed of comments from every possible angle, business quality, personal relationships, history, names, locations. As of right now my number is empty but I have a feeling that won't last long. It will be very interesting to see where and how far this goes and I say this with a combination of curiousity and fear.
