DIY Scrapbooking Paper Projects That Have Nothing To Do With Scrapbooking

BlogHer Original Post

I'm a scrapper and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Have you taken a gander at scrapbooking paper and accessories recently? Ya, I know I was surprised at the hip super cuteness myself. The best thing about all the fun paper, wood chips, badges, and bling is that they don't have to be used in a scrapbook. Even if you have no interest in genealogy, that does not mean you won't enjoy these clever projects using scrapbook paper.

Recently I stumbled upon this cute project by Dawn at the Creative Cain Cabin using scrapbook paper to make a vase and a placemat.  There are so many different papers out there you could easily find one to match any China pattern.

Wreaths do not have to involve actual foliage. Why not make colorful paper flowers? Might I suggest perusing the scrapbooking aisle when choosing your paper to fold? Love this tutorial from The Craft Patch. I'm a sucker for a good accordion fold.

That Cathie Filian has done it again with her adorable candle revamp. Don't let a great smelling candle with a ho-hum wrapper exist in your gift giving repertoire. Bust out the Mod Podge and scrapbooking paper and spruce that bad boy up.

I have too many keys on my keychain. Some might even belong to cars and houses I no longer own. That being the case I am the queen of fumbling for the right key. Enter Creme de la Craft and her scrapbook paper-covered key tutorial. Could this be the answer to all my prayers? Probably not, but I sure would have fun making them.

Sure, I primarily use scrapbook paper to scrapbook, but I have also used it many other clever ways. Bathroom scales, picture frames, cake pop displays -- everything looks better with some colorful paper. Love to hear some of the ways you have used scrapbooking paper other than to scrapbook.
