Thanksgiving Dinner for a Small Table
For Canadian Thanksgiving back in October, Leslie from the Ottawa food blog Definitely Not Martha cooked dinner for a small group. Lucky for anyone doing the same, she's blogged the entire menu, start(er) to finish, riffing traditional flavors with her own sense of style.
She writes: "When it comes to food, I'm not a big fan of the traditional. Just because you have been eating the same thing for the last 20 years doesn't necessarily mean that it is a great idea. ... when it comes to meals like Thanksgiving, I always feel like I'm stuck in a bit of a conundrum. In my neck of the woods, when the temperature drops, people expect turkey. And they expect the full-meal, roasted, sage-seasoned bird deal. No ifs, ands or buts."
If the hardest part of Thanksgiving dinner is menu planning, Leslie's done all the work. Her post includes the full menu and all her Thanksgiving recipes, all in one spot.
Turkey Dumplings with Cranberry-Soy Sauce
Roasted Butternut Squash Soup with Cinnamon Cumin Cream
Mâche with Balsamic Vinaigrette and Goat Cheese
