Don't Drink and Tweet

We've all done it. You go out drinking with your friends, get dropped off by your designated driver and you log on to Twitter, or Facebook, or Plurk (seriously, I went there the other day, there are still people on Plurk. I was amazed too.) or whatever social media outlet you prefer and start drunk broadcasting.

Oh. It can be ugly. If you just send hate Myspace messages to your ex-boyfriend, it is a good day. On a medium day, you get into a political argument on Twitter. If you were drinking tequila, you might post the pictures from your wild night out on your Facebook account and start changing your status, friending people you had crushes on in high school and sending threatening DMs to athletes.

I mean, not me, but other people might do that.

The thing is, Webroot has come up with a solution to save yourself from your drunken shenanigans. The Social Media Sobriety Test.

Check it out.

Ahh, that is better.

You know what else? I thought this was a joke, but it appears to be a real Firefox plug-in. Of course, the Internet could be punking me. Remember that time we all thought Jeff Goldblum was dead?

Sometimes I think I need a social media attitude adjustment kit when I am sober. Other social media kits I could really use?

  • The Don't Spell Words Wrong When You are Trying to Be Smart on Twitter Kit
  • The Don't Talk About Angry Birds - Your Boss is on Facebook Now! Kit
  • The Don't Reply All, What is Wrong With You? Kit
  • The Dude, Your Kids Can Read Now and One of Them is Standing Right Behind You Kit

These people are going to make a killing off of me.

This was really funny and yet at the same time so very true. I can't imagine why anyone would want to drink and get on their social media outlets at the same time. Oh wait, I've done it, but not to that extreme.

I agree with this, I see a lot of this on the roads these days especially parents with kids in the back seat and it is so dangerous.Few states have pass laws making it illegal but it needs to be a national law.I must admit that texting or tweeting has become so much a part of our lifestyle and the increasing infusion of these smart and techno savvy devices don't make the temptation any easier but we have to be disciplined it will go far in increasing safety on the roads.

Also don't blog or tweet when you are falling asleep on the computer. You think you are making total sense and you have clarity. Ha Ha
