DriveTime Yoga - The Rolling Namaste

http://www.drivetimeyoga.com/files/1849238/uploaded/webcar1.jpgYoga has become very popular as a low impact exercise program to improve one's fitness quota. I for one, have been a walker or water fitness person, (who really needs to do it more often!). I've considered Yoga but until now never felt it fit my Car Girl image until now...

Elaine Masters of DriveTime Yoga has developed a very innovative idea to combine Yoga and Driving to help reduce stress and improve posture.

Stress? Anyone have a need to reduce stress...me? YES, you bet'cha! Posture, well my Mother still tells me to sit up straight now and then. So, how the heck can Yoga help this Car Girl with her LA traffic driving stress? Bring the heart of Yoga along for the ride with simple Yoga exercises, Yoga Poses, and Driving Ergonomics.

Drivetime Yoga's simple Yoga exercises, and techniques you will:

Break driving habits that can lead to injury.

Use simple movements that include lower back pain exercises.

Safely tone, energize and relax doing Yoga in your car.

Stop dreading stoplights and hating gridlock!

Make adjustments and vehicle choices for better health.

Clear your head with Yoga breathing techniques and stress leaves.

She has an eBook for $10.95, articles, Yoga props and a road trip photo contest running though September 30th for a sign copy of her book.

Elaine has written some great articles to back up her program's importance:

"You can’t break a bad habit if you don’t know you have one. With a little bit of awareness and intent you can easily, safely transform the time that you have to spend driving. It’s not the ‘Sunday Drives’ that affect your health as much as the repetitive situations you find yourself in day after day. While your vehicle is hurtling through space on the way to your destination, your body is settling into familiar patterns. Your breathing is most likely very shallow and your spine is either bent, tensed or tilted as you lean on one hip or one arm. Each of these is not a problem in them selves but, repeated over extended periods of time, may take a toll on your health. Yoga Exercises are a great, anti-aging, healthy way of exercising. Gridlock can be stressful for commuters, now you can get by stress free. Doing Yoga in your car with Drivetime Yoga will help greatly."

Did she say anti-aging, too? I am so there, ordering my eBook now... Namaste!

Next week I'll be on a road trip - taking my youngest to college. I'm imagining that the drive back might be a tough one for me so i"ll look forward to breathing, focusing and doing a little Drive Time Yoga to help embrace the new empty nester me.
