Maybe I still have tape on the brain after last night’s post on foil tape. I am still plotting out my amaze-a-balls hexagon wall. In the meantime today I have moved on to duct tape. Not the kind for ducts, I’m talking the colorful fancy stuff that comes in pretty colors or with wee little handlebar mustaches. Every crafter and their crafty dog has probably tried their hand at a duct tape craft or two, myself included. Today I was inspired by a fancy folded clutch purse. Not able to let a good theme go I thought if the tape posts ain’t broke, why fix them. Stick around for a round up of a few of my favorite Duck Tape purses.
This colorful woven clutch purse over on See Jamie Blog is what first caught my eye. I love how she and her daughter chose to use several different colors and styles of Duck Tape in order to get a patchwork effect. The more colors and patterns the better has always been my motto. Jamie and her daughter Kathryn are working their way through the pins on their Pinterest boards. This week they opted for a woven clutch. I have tried my hand at this weave using candy wrappers so I admire their dedication. I think the end result is super cute.
Next up I spotted this more traditional and subdued purse over at Debbie Doos. These purses were made for a wedding. Yup duct tape has made it from aisle 27 at Home Depot to being carried down the aisle by someone in a full length dress rather than coveralls. The purses were made using scrap bridesmaid dress material, duct tape and craft store embellishments. Clever and crafty.
We can’t forget the boys who might want to get crafty with duct tape. These wallets made by Larissa over at Just Another Day in Paradise are perfect for the crafty dude or dudette in your life. Heck my 40ish year old husband needs a new wallet and this is giving me all kinds of ideas. Duck Tape comes in about a million and one colors and according to the blog post these are really easy to make once you get the hang of it – my point, you could several wallets to match all your purses! Wonder if you could make little tape chains and make a chain wallet for the hipster tough guy crafters.
