Easter Day Jaunt
By Kraken on April 12, 2012
My brother in-law and his family live in the Hudson Valley, in upstate New York, on a 150 acres. His property is beautiful; full of westward rolling hills, undulating meadows and buttery afternoon light
The property has been in his wife's family since 1939 and is littered with out buildings that are crammed full of her family's treasures.
She recently found a hand knitted baby sweater that was a layette gift to her mother from....Mrs. Theodore Roosevelt! And the coolest thing about their property...they have their own Civil War era cemetery!!! Imagine having your own cemetery....I'm a touch envious.
Unfortunately, we never can stay long, some silly reason keeps us from having a proper visit....one day, some day...I will walk all 150 acres. One day, I will photograph the early morning light.
