Easter Weekend/Friday Wrap-Up

  • Floor reno is looking like it will be done on Saturday (maybe), but there's no real surprise there. Since when are reno's ever finished on time? I'll put some before & afters in a future post. It's taking a little longer because there were layers of flooring that we did not expect. I vaguely remember the 1st layer from when we first moved in when I was a teenager. Talk about flash back memories. The middle layer, I wasn't living here. 2 subfloors, 3 floorings. A hot mess. Lessons learned, that will not be repeated in my home.

  • Plans for the weekend. I will get in a game of monopoly or scrabble. We're having family staying with us for Easter, so my hopes are high.
  • I hope everyone is going to enjoy the weekend. Whether you celebrate Easter, enjoy the day off or the holiday pay. Easter is one of my favourite holidays, not for religious reasons but just because it evokes a lot of good childhood memories.
  • I still think it's going to be cold and snowy or cold and rainy. Cold in any event. Remember a couple of years back, when it was hot enough where people were able to wear shorts? I think 2 Easters in a row. That was weird. No matter what time of the year, anything warmer then 69/70 degrees is too much for me. I am not a heat lover. I actually get pretty grumpy when it gets too hot. Plus, for the last several years when it's super hot and the UV is very high, I get hives. I have no idea where that came from, but I'm not impressed. Who the heck gets hives from high UV? Me, I guess.

Is Easter a favourite holiday of yours or are you just glad that you get a day off?
