Ellen Pack recently joined the marketing team at Common Sense Media, the largest, independent not-for-profit organization committed to helping kids manage media and technology in life and learning. She has more than 20 years’ experience launching and growing online products and services. In the early 1990’s, Ellen founded Women.com and grew it into the largest Internet destination for women. After a successful IPO, Women.com merged with iVillage (now owned by NBC). After Women.com, Ellen bought Town & Country Resources, a regional home staffing agency in the Bay Area, which she helped expand and then sold successfully five years later in 2008. She went on to lead Marketing at Elance, where she helped businesses grow by hiring online talent. Ellen also co-founded start-up appSmitten, an email newsletter service featuring curated app recommendations. Ellen holds a BA in Economics from Columbia College and an MBA from Columbia Business School. She has earned recognition and awards from a number of industry organizations and media outlets across the US, including Wired and Fortune.
