tinkerbell

i would like to teach it to my daughter while she is still young

I ma most like Tinker Bell.

It is most important to share the lesson with yourself.  Then you can teach it to others by being a good example.  Being true to yourself is knowing yourself and not betraying yourself to things you do not want or need.  Be yourself.  If Miss Bell can teach us then I want her to stay with me.  Thank you for offering her a new home.

Lessons for life

My daughters are older, so I want to share this important lesson with my darling granddaughter.

cute!

cute!

tinker bell

My son's girlfriend just loves tinker bell.Everybody always buys her tinker bell stuff for christmas and birthdsys.

We were in Disney last year

We were in Disney last year waiting for the fireworks to begin.  While waiting, a woman came up to us and handed our kids a bunch of special fairy dust. (Large pieces of glitter) and told the kids that Tinkerbell was going to be making an appearance if the weather was right for her to fly and that she would be flying over right by where we were waiting.  (There was a wire from the castle to where we were.)  The kids were just so excited.  The woman told them a story about how the magic fairy dust worked and that if they ever felt down to make a special wish on the dust.  The weather wasn't with us that night and Tinkerbell didn't fly that night, but the kids thought the dust was so great.  They each put theirs in a little bag and they put it into thier memory boxes.  They still talk about the lady who gave them Tinkerbells magic fairy dust.

Thank you so much for offering this giveaway.  I'd really love to win this for our kids and to have them understand the message of being true to themselves.  Thanks.

Tinkerbell

I would love to share this message with my daughter. I think we all need to be reminded once in awhile of important messages such as being true to yourself.

tinkerbell

I think we all need to remember tinkerbell's lesson. There are many times in life that we forget and need to be reminded

I am Tinkerbell's mom.

My daughter recently paraded around Walt Disney World as Tinkerbell, I always thought Tinkerbell was kind of a jerk with the whole Wendy jealousy thing, but I'm interested to see how the new movie featuring Tinkerbell puts her in a different light, and of course if I want one person in my life to be true to who they are it's my daughter.

Why the name Tinker Bell?

She was called Tinker Bell because she mended the pots and kettles, a tinker is a tin worker, and with her magic wand led Peter Pan through the ins and outs of Never Never Land reminding us of a time in everyone's childhood when danger and adventure lured us into the possibilities of the imagination to believe in Fairies, to this day she is one of our greatest influences to search out and find.

great movie

this is def one I want to get an play- I teach the kids- guys and girls be true to yourself..not be what others expect you to be...I have all ages and do talk to them and they know I expect them to foloow the hearts and be themselves....cannot wait to see what they did or how they changed this movie but I am excited

My daughter of course~ and I

My daughter of course~ and I could always be reminded of that lesson too:)

Aww, Tink's not mean.

I always feel bad for poor Tink when I hear people say they don't like her because she's mean. Imagine if you were the only woman in the universe, and then stinky ol Wendy showed up ;) Maybe we can all relate to the "Wait, who is she, and why is she getting all this attention?" feeling.

My daughter adores Tinker Bell, and Tink has been a real-life example for her about being true to herself. Her best friend is from a very conservative religious upbringing who thinks that faeries take away from the message of their creator. We talked about how she can still believe in faeries, and still play with Tink stuff/read Tink books, AND still be respectful to her friend. She learned that if she wanted to play with Tink, she needed to, but to be proud of her friend for being true to herself, and her upbringing.

Anywho, my daughter so wants to see this movie, and we both almost cried when we found out they decided to release it straight to DVD instead of to theaters. We would love Tink to remind us to be true to ourselves.

"Learning to be true to

"Learning to be true to yourself" is a lesson that every young girl should strive to learn. I would like to see my young granddaughters learn this. This would apply to 7 of my 14 grandkids.

This is not the Tinker Belle I remember

I have not seen this movie but as I recall the Tinker Bell in the movie Peter Pan, she was a rather jealous, mischief maker.
I am glad that this movie has come out and my Granddaughter (who is not quite 2) tunes into the commercials advertising it. Being of mixed race, I hope she grows to be very proud of her heritages. Both of them. This is an example of being true to yourself.
That attitude is easier said then done sometimes. We need reminded. We need reassured.
I hope this movie leaves a good message about being true to yourself in many young people's minds.
Thank you for the giveaway and letting me comment on this topic.

My daughter and I both love

My daughter and I both love Tinkerbell.  When I was little, my grandfather nicknamed me Tink. I have all kinds of Tinkerbell memorabillia.  Everytime we see her, she reminds me of my grandpa.

Tinker Bell finally gets her spotlight.

I was amazed to see Tinker Bell get her own flick. She has been so obsure for so many years. One would hardly even know who she is because the other characters like Peter Pan have over shadowed Tinker Bell. She must of protested enough to Disney that they thought they better giver her own gig or she would jump on board with Warner Bros. We wouldn't want that, because Bugs Bunny then would think about coming over to Disney. Then Disney World would eventually become Walt Warner World. What would I tell my grandchildren then? I better take some nice pictures now to show my grandchildren "the way it used to be." So if Disney can give into Tinker Bell, I am wondering if their will be any more requests from other characters. Personally, I would hate to always be labeled a villian. I would one day want people to think I was an ok character. They do it in Hollywood, why not Disney?

Tinkerbell

I would love to share this with my sweet daughter. These are great things for her to learn while she is still young.

Thanks!!

I love tinkerbell. WE went

I love tinkerbell. WE went ot disney world and got to see her fly from the castle. It took me back to Sunday night watching tv and seeing her start the movie.

True to ourselves!

I recall my when I was a little girl I could truly relate to Tinker Bell. From the time I was quite young, I had an hourglass bottom half. Tiny waist and large hips. So when Tinker Bell got stuck in the keyhole or looks down at the mirror and shows frustration with the size of her hips...I LOVED IT! I loved that her feelings for Peter Pan showed she could be imperfect and jealous (and he gave her every reason to be), yet in the end she was willing to lay down her life for him and you saw that he genuinely returned the affection. I think being true to yourself is knowing your weaknesses and learning to keep them under control and find ways to turn them into strengths. I think being true to yourself is holding onto what you love, value, and respect, and not falling into peer pressure to become something you are not. I hope my youngest daughter whom we call Tink because of personality commonalities (such as a feisty temper), will be able to be true to herself as she grows up and faces those challenges. Our last name is Bell, and my youngest 3 actually believe that Tinker Bell is part of our family. Cannot wait to see the new Tink DVD!!!

I'd love to win

I would share the message with my son Peter. I'm sure he'll love watching Tinkerbell.

My daughters

I have two young daughters.  I would share this message with them.  I want them to know they are special for who they are, not for who they think they should be.

But I also want them to know that I love them no matter what.

Plus, we just did our budget, and I forgot this movie was coming out.  It's not in our budget to purchase it.  :(

For my daughters

I have two very young daughters and I would like them to grow up knowing and understanding what "being true to yourself" means.  Thank you for this chance.

My daughter and step-daughter love
Tinkerbell!

I would share the message with both of them.

My daughter for sure!

This is something we are already talking about at the simple age of three!!! She is who I would want to instill this value with the most in life!

It starts within

I second what others have been saying on here, It is so important to teach our daughters by modeling a healthy self image, positive attitude and trusting your instincts. To me this is what " being true to yourself" is all about. It is such an important lesson and since I am my daughters first and most important teacher, you better believe that I am going to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

I would love to  cuddle up  and share this movie with my daughter and indulge in a big bowl of popcorn.

tinkerbell

Without hesitation, I would want to share this message with my children.

tink

I would share the message of being true to yourself with both of my children. What seems like a given to us adults becomes a tough struggle in the face of all the pressures that children face nowadays. I hope I will be a good example to my kids and that they will always know to trust their hearts, trust their instincts, and follow their own intuition. And...we love Tinkerbell!

tinkerbell

I would love to share this message with my daughter. She's a huge Tinkerbell fan and I think she's more likely to get the message from Tink than she would be from me.

Movie

My daughter has been enjoying the Pixie Hollow web site on Disney.com recently.  More than being true to herself, I want my dd to do what is right, which might not always be what she wants to do.  However, usually doing what is right can involve standing up against others who are not doing the right thing, so I would like her to usually be true to herself.

I spend a lot of time with dd since I teach her at home, and we spend a lot of time talking about what is right.  While she does spend a lot of time playing with friends, most of the time she is with people that encourage her and like her for who she is.  I think that helps her be more of her own person.
