Books are for the Birds

The Bachlor tonight a few thoughts…  Juan Pablo is hot.The massage therapist, she freaked me out, in her intro how she was groaning giving people rub downs, what a creep!!! As always the limo introductions never disappoint. The piano bike, then she hits the bad note!?!?!?! Chemistry with test tubes, come on! But the topper was the fake pregnancy....more

American Idol: The Trip, The Access...and Ryan Posing!

Disclosure: American Idol Productions treated me to Hollywood Week and covered my travel expenses. As many of you fans know, we are on the cusp of a new season of American Idol.  As a fellow fan, I am excited, too. Sister Wives: Could You Do It?

For the last few seasons, I've been watching "Sister Wives" on TLC.  The reality show is about a modern day polygamist family trying to make it in a monogamist world.  While I don't agree with their lifestyle, I'm incredibly intrigued by it.  The 4 sister wives are Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn Brown who are all married to Kody Brown.  Their children number into the double digits and the show reveals the chaos that exists as a result....more
I am fascinated by that show... Honestly, the part I don't understand is the guy -- he is sort ...more

Former Bachelor Contestant, Gia Allemand, Dead at Age 29

I'm a Bachelor and Bachelorette fan, but the recent news is way more real than reality TV. Yesterday I learned that Season 14 star Gia Allemand passed away at the young age of 29. According to a statement released on behalf of her family, the cause of death was apparently suicide. Gia had been dating New Orleans Pelicans basketball player Ryan Anderson. ...more

Amazing Race Audition – And Now We Wait

I'd pretty much forgotten about the whole idea until one day, at the office, Adrienne tells me that she thinks WE should audition together as a team. I mean, we're both successful business women who aren't afraid of anything -- they'd be crazy to not pick us, right?! And I realize she has a point. Why not? We'd make a great team.. we complement each other extremely well and both have shrewd, mad analytical skills. We may not make it, but I know the one way to guarantee we don't make it -- and that's not to audition....more

'American Idol' Recap: The Top 6 Sing Two Songs

My biggest complaint last time American Idol had four judges was that they spent WAY too much time yapping, and not enough time singing. So I was thrilled to see that we heard two songs per contestant this week, for the entire Top 6. The first song was from the Bacharach and David songbook, and the second was a song the singers wish they had written. ...more

American Idol Recap: The Top 7 Rock and Roll

But we'll be the judge of that, won't we?So I'm going to dig right in.1. Burnell sang "You Give Love a Bad Name" by Bon JoviDid Burnell know this was the live show? He was marking it like it was rehearsal. Bo. Ring. Like the judges schooled him: Make the best of what you're given; make the most of each opportunity.  I think he's in trouble.Angie and Lazaro dueted on "Crazy Little Thing Called Love"...more

American Idol Recap: The Top 8 Visit the Motor City, Musically Speaking

Welcome to the American Idol and their annual visit to the Motor City, aka Detroit, aka Motown. And their annual mentor-episode with Smokey Robinson.I think other cities must get jealous. Why doesn't American Idol visit Nashville? Or Memphis? Or the East Village? Or Liverpool? You know what else gets jealous? Keith's hair. Or at the very least his highlights got jealous of Nikki's roots and decided to make their own over-the-top appearance. Who would have predicted Mariah Carey would have the lowest-maintenance beauty routine on the judge's panel?...more

America Idol Recap: The Top 9 and the Beatles: "I'm with the Bland"

A few years ago the Beatles gave in to the lure of American Idol, and allowed them to use their catalog. Each year since that milestone year, we've had a Beatles Tribute night, and last night was that night. It's a double-edged sword. Some of the best material. Some of the biggest opportunities to fall flat on your face with a sub-par performance or cheesy Muzak arrangement. So, how did our Top 9 do? Let's dig in.1. Kree sang "A Little Help From My Friends" (more of the Joe Cocker version)...more
