I live with my iTouch near me all day. It's my alarm clock in the morning, my constant reminder of what to do during the day, my note pad, my food and exercise tracker. I SO wish more places I went had wifi, so it could help me be even more productive. I do not own a "smart phone" yet, though as soon as I have the time to stop my cellphone store, I'm picking up a Android phone. Will it replace my iTouch or will both live in my pocket all day?
19 minutes, 35 seconds. That's how long I've been on Blogher... at least the last time I checked. I'm probably up to 23 minutes at this point, but really, who cares about the number of seconds that I've been a member? This post is just mostly for me to figure out how all this works. Once I've worked out the kinks, I'll actually start blogging. :-) Just for today, Do not anger, Do not worry, Be grateful, Work hard, Be kind to others -Usui Sensei...more
In 1941, J.D. Salinger had seven stories rejected by The New Yorker. Apparently undaunted, he submitted an eighth the same year, "Slight Rebellion off Madison," which was accepted. BUT, it was about a disaffected teenager (can you guess his name?) nervous about the war, and in the wake of Pearl Harbor was deemed unpublishable - so did not see print for another five years....more
It was cold last night, yet I was warm while I slept because my dog Jake curled up right next to me. Today, the dogs will greet my every return to the house (even if I just went out to the mail), eagerly taste test my food to insure it's safety, and coat the carpet in a decorative layer of additional fur.
Other peoples' cats will prowl their houses looking for stray dust motes and mice to chase. Hamsters will spin on their wheels and squeak an alarm when the refrigerator door opens. Parrots will mimic. Fish will calm with their steady back and forth motion.
Ahh... the holidays are upon us... Images of sugar plums dancing in our heads while dreaming if Santa Claus will be providing us with treats (or a big fat lump of coal) under our Christmas trees. Who am I kidding?! That is what I want.. those images on the books I read to my son at bedtime.
When deciding what to write about today, I opted to bring a human interest story to you, my wonderful readers. You know how I feel about all things WOMAN. I love discussing all the issues that women of all ages face, and this story touched me deep in my gut. I hope after reading about an incredible woman and her story, Terry Grahl and her organization Enchanted Makeovers, you will be just as inspired as I was. Her energy and passion literally jumped out of the phone, and I had to pass her story on to all of you. Enjoy!...more
I need to concentrate on a new collection but I am not able to. I have always been passionate about woven fabric and here we have such a magnificent tradition. Our craftsmanship is also top notch. But to run a business I have to compromise big time. Mill made material is just not appealing to me, no matter how good the quality. To me they have no life. That thought ‘though is so absolutely wrong. People make a living out of the production of these fabrics. Even then. I personally can never wear them....more
Welcome asihandbag here is Chanel handbag - Chanel 2.55
The Chanel 2.55
handbag was first introduced in February 1955- hence the name 2.55.
Coco Chanel designed the handbag for her own use so some of the
features tell us a little bit about her lifestyle as the original
"There's nothing to do."
"How many days until we go ...?"
These -and similar complaints - are the true signs of summer. Children left to their resources can quickly run out of ways to amuse themselves. I'd be willing to bet that with schools closing because of the H1N1 influenza, some parents and caretakers are already hearing these refrains.
With that in mind, I've searched out some simple to more complicated crafty tutorials to keep the whole family entered for an afternoon.
