I sing a silly song that sounds ridiculous to get them started with a smile.

I fix them breakfast each morning.

I waken early before children are awake, do meditations, yoga and eat my breakfast with the sunrise. Then I waken my two sleepheads. For breakfast, I always write a new message with the frosting on the Toaster Strudel. It seems to make their morning. Some I've written have been Love, calm, their names, smiley faces, HUGS, and so on. They eat the Strudel with their yogurt and are ready to go!

I love the fact that my kids are ages 1 & 4 and a simple game of peek-a-boo will pull smiles from either one of them any morning!

I am a morning person, so I make my non-morning kids smile most mornings with my witty humor enticing them out of bed with a good well-rounded breakfast. I'm blessed they are funny and full of light and love. Maybe it's the food!

I asked the kids what they like best and they said that they wake up smiling in the morning knowing that they have the support of the family to screw up and still be loved - we enjoy our family breakfast time. Priceless!

I make pancakes in different shapes and they have to guess what they are. It's fun!

We start the day walking the dog and then coming back for a good breakfast!

It makes it easy to keep the kids happy in the morning when they are taught to eat healthy from the start. They know enough that they will less healthy breakfasts sometimes, but it is not the norm.

Well, I don't have kids, but the way to make anyone in the family smile (me and DH) is with a good breakfast. That starts out the day right!

I make my kids smile by letting them sleep in..haha..no I usually have their favorite breakfasts ready for them.

My mom used to wake us up singing the song 'Good morning good morning good morning it's time to rise and shine' Now I like to give my kid's a smile by doing the same.

When my daughter was little, I made it a point to keep mornings peaceful. I prepped the night before to avoid a stressful morning rush. Saw lots of smiles!

My kids are grown~But when the grandchildren stay over I like to make pancakes like my Mom used to make for them :-)

I live by myself, and I feel great in the morning if I get up and get some things done.

I've found that what keeps my family especially the kids the happiest is when we take out a few minutes in the morning just to all snooze in bed together. The kids will come crawling into our bed. It is great cuddle time and we sometimes will sing or play word games or tickle fights. It helps make the long day ahead seem a bit easier. It is amazing how those 10 minutes make all the difference in the world.

My daughter loves to be surprised. When it is shower time, I run into the master bedroom and hide behind the bed, she comes in calling for me and when she gets close to the end of the bed I jump out and say surprise. She likes to try to surprise me too but most of the time is too busy laughing to remember to say surprise.

I like to make sure I get as much together at night as I can. School lunches, backpacks, clothes picked out. That way no one is scrambling around in the morning, trying to get stuff together. We all stay a lot calmer and morning goes much smoother...we all smile a littl emore!
