This blog started as a means of communicating my clients, friends and family. It has morphed in to common place for us to share info about the Running Crew's training schedule, recipes, workouts or anything else that strikes our fancy.
I am a personal trainer, group fitness instructor, best friend, daughter and sometimes counselor ;) I think the counselor part comes with the territory of being a personal trainer. Regardless, I'm passionate about what I do. I love to sweat, eat healthy and teach others to do the same. Of course it's not quite that easy but I'm a big fan of making things as simplistic as possible. YOU are an animal (mammal if want to be specific) and our bodies are created to digest plant and animals, that said, if you can't tell whether "your food" is a plant or animal, don't eat it! Really, if you did nothing else, but follow that rule I bet you'd be a lot healthier! My guide to working out in general and training for endurance events...less is more. More 100% efforts, and less steady state cardiovascular work. There's a little more to it than that, but I think we get the picture, keep your diet and exercise plans simple and keep all the clutter out. Keep in mind our long term goal is HEALTH; find exercise and healthy eating patterns that work for you and stick with it!
