A lifetime ago, I had a friend named Lisa. She was from Tennessee. I met her when we both lived in North Carolina. Lisa was a good friend and she never wore shorts. It didn't matter how hot (or humid) it was, she always wore long pants. She and her husband got orders to the Philippines and I said, "Lisa, you're going to have to wear shorts." She swore she never would.
A few months later, my (now ex) husband and I got orders to the Philippines. The first day we arrived, Lisa knocked on my hotel room door... and she was wearing shorts!

The first year I lived in Chicago, I never wore a hat. I hated hats. I would only barely wore gloves. I swore I would never wear a hat. I hated hats.

The second year I lived in Chicago, TW knitted me an awesome hat, with a hole in the back for my ponytail. I wore that hat all winter long. I was often tempted to wear it inside my cold house.

When I was young, I never understood ski masks. I thought only bank robbers and such wore ski masks. Ski masks are stupid and ugly and who would wear ski masks, other than a bad guy? I thought if the world stopped manufacturing ski masks, that would solve the problem.
A couple of hours ago, I put on TWO hats and TWO pairs of gloves to walk to the end of the driveway to pull up the trash bins and get the mail. That's when I finally understood the ski mask...
