Ever wonder about those people writing from other places on the planet? The people writing from fascinating places like South Africa or England or Albania or the Sudan or ...ummm... Belgium?
What do they write about? Fancy cheeses? Driving on the wrong side of the road? Fighting with their partners? Learning another language? Avoiding hi-jackings? Apparently, all of those things, and more. We'll be talking about getting your blog started in another country, finding your voice, and the many resources for expats and expat-wannabes. We'll also talk about how to adapt when you move country,or even (horrors!) repatriate.
If nothing else, come and hear our strange and wonderful stories of bizarre lands and fascinating peoples. Hostesses are expateek and the beautiful belgian waffle. More speakers to be confirmed.

Hm, am I an expat?
My family's Australian, we moved to Norway when I was eight, I still live in Norway but am married to an American who moved here from Chicago three years ago - we speak English at home. I've been blogging for years (in English, not Norwegian) but rarely about any kind of expat experience, although I certainly feel as "Anglo" in a broad sense as I feel Norwegian.
I imagine most of the attendees at BlogHer will be from the US! Might be interested in attending this but I'm not sure I could add a lot?
I should think so!
Hi Jilltxt
Of course you are! If there's one thing I learned about being an expat, it's that there's a huge variety of experiences out there. Your perspective on the matter would be most interesting.
I hope this topic generates interest, and hope to meet you in July. How wonderful to come over for BlogHer!
Best, ellie

So excited to be coming to BlogHer!
I'm really excited about coming to BlogHer finally! I've wanted to attend since the first time and am so pleased it's finally working out :) Hopefully we'll get to meet!
An expat point of view
The great thing about listening to expats is that it paints a completely different picture of the country in question. Expat bloggers are usually funny, and have a lot of suggestions for their host country men and women!!! If you've never thought it funny that Americans say "I could care less" when they really mean that they couldn't care less, come and learn more!
Great idea!
Speaking about expat bloggers is a great idea! The expat blog team supports you!
