Utterly Fabulous Day!
So life is good.
Yesterday
afternoon, after a brief spat with 3mobile, we went back into town. As
of next Tuesday I will have one of these phones http://www.3g.co.uk/PR/August2006/3443.htm Or possibly it's more updated brother. 3 have a different name for it slightly, but this is what it was!
And
then we went to see The Dark Knight, which was a great comic book
film. There was a couple of things that I won't go into here that I
felt they could have done differently, and I didn't see why they
removed characters the way they did, having done all the work to get
them in there, but I won't say who or what in the interests of not
spoiling it for other people.
I had tried to phone the Adorable
Child in the interval, as he was having an extra overnight with his
father, the He-Ex. I tried again after the film, spoke to him, and
just wanted to clear up what time he was going to bed so that I knew
for today - it makes a difference to how the AC is in the daytime.
He-Ex, somewhat predictably, took it personally, accused me of being in
a bad mood (lol, as if - have you clicked the link for the phone?) and
then got all defensive and silly about it. For the record, I don't
give two hoots what time the AC goes to bed there, I'd just like to
know so that I can be honest with him. Recently there have been
several times when the AC has said "But Daddy lets me stay up" and I've
said "No, he doesn't he puts you to bed at 7pm, just like Mummy does."
However, apparently he doesn't and hasn't for a long time.
Between
this and the Simpsons there is a fair bit of "What Mummy doesn't know
is ok" and I dont' like AC being in the middle of it. I have been
thinking of moving his bedtime to later, he's getting older and so on,
and I was going to discuss it with his father and with R as their
opinions matter as well. Obviously I now know what the He-Ex opinion
is lol! The upside of me doing that would be that I would move the
He-Ex time back as well, so that they had until 6.30 pm again - I only
need an hour to get him sorted out and calmed down for bed, and he
needs to spend time with his father. He loves R, but his father is his
father. Unfortunately, his father thinks he is not his father but his
friend.
Never mind.
Moving on.
And then R asked me
what I would like to do. And I eventually answered that I would like
to go to the coast. So we got on the back of the bike, and he took me,
(racing the sun it turned out to be!) right across Norfolk to Cromer,
just so I could see the sunset over the sea. We talked, about serious
things, and it's all good - we are going to get more cats if that's
what I'd like. We rode back in the dark, home about 11pm, zooming
along under the stars of a clear (ish!) Norfolk sky.
I need to
think about it though. Yes, I would love more cats, I would love a
pair of cats to be here for company basically. But it's a tie. We're
going away for 2 nights. We can leave the Guineapig and minipig with
extra food, extra water, and they'll be ok. I know the He-Ex used to
say we could leave the cats with just some extra, but I never felt
happy with that.
I think we'll get fish, and see where we go from there.
Other
good news would be that the She-Ex really isn't talking to me this
time, so that makes life a lot nicer and less full of vitriol and
nastyness. I know she'll be back, but the rest is good. R says he will
take care of everything whilst he is here. I like that.
