Security is an amenity lacking at Marriott Hotel Brand, the Fairfield Inn. My newphew was mugged last night, 11/14/09 at the Fairfield Inn Marriott in Visalia, Calfornia. He was attacked just outside of his door inside of the hotel on the second floor. The assailants may have followed someone in, but there is no tape in the security camera in the lobby to aid in the identification of the assailants. He sustained a concussion and spent the night in ER.
Adding insult to injury, the family was asked to pay for the rooms on check out, until my sister argued, they had thought they booked in to a safe secure hotel, and if the clerk charged her card they would counter charges. Security seems to be one of the amenities cut from their chain. Be aware, appearances aren't everything. Ask before checking in what type of security is offered. No tape in the security camera is unacceptable. Pam Lockhart
