[Editor's Note:  I came across so many great posts on Quinto's five episode arc on the upcoming FX weekly thriller American Horror Story - from Glee's not-so-gleeful creators, like THIS POST from Shock Til You Drop, but Queerty's take was so interesting, I couldn't resist bringing this question to our own readers...what do you think? --Morgan]

American Horror Story, one of the fall’s most hotly anticipated, centers on a couple (Connie Britton and Dylan McDermott) who move their family into a possibly haunted house. Quinto—who plays Chad, the gay former owner of the house—is slated to appear in at least four episodes, beginning with the Halloween episode on October 26.

Quinto’s orientation is a subject of public speculation—and something he won’t discuss—so is he having it both ways by (possibly) being closeted while still taking on so many gay roles? Is it hypocritical to make an It Gets Better video and appear at gay-rights galas but remain silent about your sexuality?

I agree - I don't think we have a right to know anything personal about anyone - I always question the idea of the "glass closet" where public figures feel entitled to "out" others against their will.

I think people have developed an extremely unhealthy sense of entitlement when it comes to getting info on the private lives of public figures. He obviously supports the gay community. Just respect that - and his right to keep his personal life private.

What difference does my sexuality make with regard to how I feel about others? Everyone deserves to love whom they love without recrimination or fear, period. Whether I'm gay or straight, my belief in that fact doesn't change.

Not at all. He doesent owe anyone anything. Plenty of straight people have made a video.

I don't feel it's hypocritical at all. The point of gay rights is for it to get to the point where it doesn't matter who you love.
