Get the scoop on McDonald’s for your chance to win!

As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to bring families together, McDonald’s launched a new national fundraiser in support of Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®). For each Happy Meal® and Mighty Kids Meal® sold in the U.S., a portion of the sales will be donated to RMHC – McDonald’s “Charity of Choice” for more than 35 years. As part of the campaign, you can get involved by pledging time with your family through the “Make Family Time Happy Time” online application. For each minute pledged, McDonald’s will donate one penny to the Charity, with the goal of reaching 1 million minutes and a $10,000 donation to RMHC.

  • "During the day, I take him to the pool alot. We like to go to a local water park on the weekends together, and he does pretty well, till he wants to go on the big slide and cries uncontrollably, “Baby’s a big baby, I go on big slide!” Yes, he refers to himself as “Baby,” and I can’t seem to break him from it, oh well." •  "While I’ve known about the great work that goes on at Ronald McDonald Houses for the last fifteen or twenty years, seeing that work in person was something really special for our family. It’s a place that provides stability and care for families when they’re in the midst of difficult circumstances, and it gives them a way to continue to share family time with each other even when they’re navigating their way through medical issues." • "One of the most enjoyable and meaningful activities of our trip was visiting the Ronald McDonald House® (RMH®) in Oak Lawn, IL. Like all Ronald McDonald Houses around the US and worldwide, it's a haven for families with children who need medical care, giving them the chance to live close to specialized treatment centers at little to no cost." • "Not only do I appreciate the incentive to donate money to RMHC (which, as most of you know, is an incredible charity that provides housing and warm, personalized care for the families of seriously ill hospitalized children), I also loved the reminder this widget gives all of us to actually schedule time with our kids into our days, something that has literally saved me as a mom." -Read more at Suburban Turmoil
  • "Why is Ronald McDonald House Charities so important? Check out last week's post and read about Faith's new little friend Lauren from our trip. As well, our real life friends in Dallas have told us of their stays at RMHC when they were traveling around the country for therapies and a diagnosis for their daughter." • "Yeah, we enjoy spending time together. That’s probably not a shocker to anyone reading this, is it? Heh. Now, though, there’s a simple way to turn this family time into a charity donation. We learned about this when our family visited McDonald’s corporate headquarters and a Ronald McDonald House Charity® back in June, and were all pretty psyched for them to roll it out." • "In addition, as part of this campaign, McDonald’s will donate 1 penny to RMHC® for every minute of time you pledge to spend with your family up to 1,000,000 minutes. Minutes and pennies are tiny amounts that, when added up over time, can make a big impact, so start pledging your family time!" Read more at Picky Palate
  • "One of our favorite things to do as a family is to sit down for meals and eat together. We don't always pull it off, but when we do, we make the most of it. We play a game we named "Highs and Lows". Everyone names 3 things that were good about the day and 3 things that were not good about the day and then we all discuss and comment on them." • "We love Tuesday nights at McDonald’s where kids Happy Meals are only $1.50. Dave & I talk or read and relax while the kids play wildly on the McDonald’s playplace." Gabbing With Grace
  • "I absolutely loved the idea. You simply pledge to spend time with your family and in doing so, help families who want nothing more than to be together while facing medical challenges." Read more at Joy Unexpected
