Farmer's Market and Run Club
Yesterday I finally went to the Farmer’s Market! One of the things I was really excited for about living in California was the Farmer’s Market. It’s really close by so I walked over in the morning to pick up a few things.
The other day my mom was raving about a recipe she saw on Good Morning America so I decided to give it a try. It was basically roasted cherry tomatoes, garlic and breadcrumbs over linguine and garnished with basil. It was super easy to make and delicious too! The tomatoes I picked up at the Farmer’s Market were so good. If you are looking for something to make for dinner then check out the recipe.
I made dinner early and then put it in the fridge so it would be ready for later. Mike and I went to a run club last night and it met at 6:30. I didn’t want to eat dinner before but I knew I would be starving after. I was thankful that I did too because by the time we got home it was almost 8:30.
Run club was a lot of fun. We’ve been saying we want to join one as a way to meet new people and also to go to a coached track workout. In all honesty, this is the type of thing I don’t want to go to, but that I love once I’m there. Does that make sense? I’m definitely shy around people I don’t know and am intimidated by things like this. But everyone was really nice and it was a lot of fun. But I was still thankful Mike came with me, even though he doesn’t love running the way I do.
Last night we did a 1/2 mile warm up, drills and stretches, then intervals of 400, 400, 800, 600, 400, 400, 200 a 1/2 mile cool down and then stretched.
I definitely didn’t want to run too hard with Long Beach Marathon less than 2 weeks away, but it was fun to do a new workout. After Long Beach is over and I’ve recovered I’m looking forward to this weekly track workout as a way to hopefully get faster.
Do you go to a run club? Do you do weekly track work outs? Any easy dinner ideas?
