A Fashionably Bombed Guide to the Top 5 Holiday Cocktails

We, here at Fashionably Bombed headquarters, have been slaving away trying to invent and re-invent the most amazing holiday cocktails just for you! It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it! Here we’ve narrowed it down to our five favorites. Oh, and as always, we've included a little fashion inspiration, because a girl needs to know what to wear while getting her cocktail on!
Cocktail #1: A Partridge in a Pear-tini
Obviously inspired by the song, this original creation has got to be our freshest concoction yet! A festive combination of freshly juiced pear and kiwi with a star anise-infused simple syrup to really gourmet it up!
Get your fancy pants on for this drink!
Partridge in a Pear-tini
2½ ounces freshly juiced pear
2 ounces vodka
1½ ounces freshly juiced kiwi
1 ounce freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 ounce Star Anise-Infused Simple Syrup
To a cocktail shaker add ice. Next add all other ingredients and shake. Garnish with a floating star anise and imbibe!
Star Anise-Infused Simple Syrup
½ cup sugar
½ cup water
5-6 star anise pods
Combine water, sugar and star anise pods in a medium saucepan. Boil until sugar has dissolved, stirring frequently. Let sit for at least one hour. Let cool, strain and store in refrigerator.
Cocktail #2: Thin Mint-tini
Chocolate and mint! Could there be a more dreamy combination? It’s like the Girl Scout cookie that we all love, but better because it has, as Jamie Foxx would say, "A-a-a-a-a-a-alcohol!
Everything you need to make your fantasy a reality!
1½ ounces heavy cream
1 ounce Godiva Milk Chocolate Liqueur
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce Hershey's Chocolate Syrup (plus extra for rim)
¼ teaspoon peppermint extract (We like Nielsen-Massey's because the flavor is fabulous and the label is just so chic!)
10 Chocolate wafer cookies (smashed with a rolling pin)
Add chocolate liqueur, vodka, chocolate syrup, peppermint extract and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously until a frost forms. Dip rim of glass into a plate of chocolate syrup and then dip into a plate of crumbled chocolate cookies. Strain into a martini glass and garnish with a jaunty sprig of mint!
And what does one wear while enjoying a Thin Mint-tini? Why chocolate brown and mint green, of course!
Cocktail #3: Lemon Meringue Pie Drop
When life hands us locally grown, organic lemons, we make cocktails! And we just about blew our minds when we invented this one! It REALLY tastes like pie! And what's better than pie? This drink, that's what! Because it's like a piece of pie and a cocktail all rolled into one!

Lemon Meringue Pie Drop
2 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice
1½ ounces vanilla vodka
1 ounce simple syrup
1/8 teaspoon freshly grated lemon zest
To a cocktail shaker add all ingredients. Shake vigorously. Garnish with a homemade meringue floating on top!
½ cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar
Separate egg yolks from egg whites. (Put egg yolks aside for another recipe). Beat egg whites on high speed. Add cream of tartar and gradually mix in sugar until dissolved. Once your egg whites form stiff peaks, they are ready. Place a large piece of parchment paper onto a baking sheet and draw out 6 circles (we used round cookie cutters). Make sure the circles will fit your martini glasses. Spoon meringue mixture into a pastry bag with a large round tip (or a ziplock bag with one 1/2 inch corner cut off). Squeeze the meringue mixutre into circular shapes on your parchment paper. Bake at 275 degrees for 30 minutes to one hour. The longer you bake them the browner and crisper they will get.
Cocktail #4: Spiked Christmas Chai
Nothing says Christmas like chai ... wait, what??? OK, so it may not be your typical holiday cocktail, but what could be more hip that an alcoholic version of that uber trendy Indian beverage? Plus, it's warm and SUPER flavorful!
Spiked Christmas Chai
1 cup water
1 cup whole milk
2 black tea bags
1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger
5 cardamom pods (slightly crushed)
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons vodka
1 tablespoon Bailey's Irish Cream
2 teaspoons cinnamon schnapps (we like Original Cinn by Hiriam Walker because it tastes like a cinnamon roll!)
In a saucepan combine water, milk, tea bags, ginger, cloves and cardamom pods. Bring to a boil and stir continuously. Turn stove to low and add sugar. Keep stirring for 3-4 minutes until it's a light brown color. Remove from heat and strain. Stir in vodka, Bailey's and cinnamon schnapps. Garnish with a cinnamon stick.
Cocktail #5: Eggnog
Well, no surprise here, I mean what would holiday cocktails be without eggnog? But this one is made with fresh eggs that we harvested ourselves! Making the drink is quite a process, requiring the beating of three separate ingredients, but the results are well worth it! You’ll never drink that nasty stuff from a carton again!
Makes 2 large cups
4 tablespoons sugar
1¼ cups whole milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon bourbon
2 tablespoons cognac
½ vanilla bean, split lengthwise and scraped, seeds reserved
pinch of salt
Freshly grated nutmeg
Separate egg yolks and whites. Whip whites with an electric mixer and add 1 tablespoon of the sugar. Set aside. In a separate bowl whip egg yolks and 2 tablespoons of the sugar with a wire whisk. In yet another bowl, lightly whip heavy cream and add remaining 1 tablespoon of the sugar and vanilla bean seeds. To yolk mixture add milk, bourbon, cognac and a pinch of salt. Stir well. Fold egg whites and whipped heavy cream into yolk mixture. Chill for at least an hour. Top each glass with freshly grated nutmeg.
