Using social media as part of your career reinvention can be intimidating.
You're already out on a limb going back to work, switching jobs or changing industries. Add following experts' advice to use Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn to network or promote a new business and you may feel like giving up.
But don't. Learning, including learning new technology skills, should be something you do every day, says Wendy Hawkins, executive director of the nonprofit Intel Foundation that promotes math and science education. "If we do, it's like sharks trying to breathe without moving, we’ll die."
Consciously decide what it is you want to learn that will help you get from here to tomorrow to the next day, Hawkins counsels in this installment of Kaplan University's Visionary Voices video series. Don't stop learning "what is it that you want to be when you grow up," she says.
Watch the video to hear what else Hawkins has to say about technology and the role it plays in education and self-transformation.
