Femintunity: Seize The Future

Tis the time for my first blog post, I assume many imagine it to be something really crazy and special as a kick off.... Though what I feel is absolutely crazy and special, may be a bit farfetched. We'll start with The title, What is Femintunity? Lets continue the conversation below.

At the respective college I attend, it has collaborated a lot with organizations that empower women. One of these organizations being The American Association University of Women, Their mission statement. directly from their website defines itself as, "AAUW has been empowering women as individuals and as a community since 1881. For more than 130 years, we have worked together as a national grassroots organization to improve the lives of millions of women and their families."

Sounds amazing, right?

This organization has provided me with many opportunities some being, Hosting a workshop on my campus that provides tools and strategies for women to feel confident while running for any position and also "winning." Another opportunity this organization has provided me with was selecting me to receive a full scholarship to attend The National Conference of Women Student Leaders. I can talk about it for hours, but honestly, one of the greatest experiences YET.

So you may ask why am I writing what seems like an entire blog post about AAUW, Well I want to share an event that I am so anxious about.

Every year AAUW selects 10 women from around the United States to sit on what is called "The Student Advisory Council," the duties of the Student Advisory Council is to partake in the creating, planning and hosting of The National Conference of Women Student Leaders. A conference where women from all over the United States attend in solidarity of achieving the same goal.

Pretty amazing experience being around women that are on the same page as you. Just saying. :)

So applications were due  Yesterday September 29, we are supposed to be notified if we were selected by October 4th. DUN DUN DUUUN. So nerves are all over the place... can Friday come any slower?

I will post the response I get as soon as I receive it..... Here's to femintunity!

Good Vibes & Autumn Time.

PS: I am still teaching myself how to post blogs. bare with me :)
