Fighting Depression: You're Never Alone as You Climb the Mountain
By Melissa Ford on August 23, 2013
BlogHer Original Post
I Miss You When I Blink has a post that illustrates the difference between being blue and being depressed, and it explains how she came to the decision to use medication to help her manage her depression. It is both a post that points out that none of us are alone, even if it feels that way at times. There is always someone out there who will echo back "me too" as you both climb that mountain of feelings.
I could make myself act kind of normalish for a little while each day, but it wouldn’t last. It was starting to feel like a long time since I’d really felt like me. And I missed being me. I missed being weird and broken but in a jolly weird and broken way. I missed seeing the good and the funny in the world, instead of the bad and the sad. Hell, I missed wanting to get out of bed in the morning. (People around me probably missed my former attention to hair brushing.)
Please read I Miss You When I Blink's post and then add in your own "me too."
