The Final BlogHer '08 Blogging Birds of a Feather and Room of Your Own schedule
by Elisa Camahort

Remember when we opened up two tracks of open slots for the community to schedule in topic-based Birds of a Feather meet-ups and community-driven Room of Your Own sessions?

OK, this might refresh your memory!

Those slots filled up pretty quickly, but since I'm not sure you all go check the agenda obsessively (you don't? really?) I thought I'd announce the final line-up.

Just to give you an idea of the variety of content and formats being presented, check out some of your options:

  • The McCain and Obama campaigns are each sending a representative to do a Q&A with you on Who Better Serves Women Like You? Moderated by our own Lisa Stone and featuring RNC Online Communications Director Liz Mair, and Obama supporter Pennsylvania Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz.
  • Kalyn gave foodbloggers homework for her Food Meet-up
  • Mo Pie and ByJane just told their readers and contributors to come on by and get to know each other face-to-face!
  • And for most of the meet-ups it will be a "lightly led" discussion
  • So, without further ado, here's the schedule...pick your poison!

    Birds, feathers, NEW SHOES?

OMG, there is too much choice.  Shoot I may need new sneakers to keep up.  Is there some rule that says I can't peep into them all?  YIKES!   OK, new shoes aside, WOW! there is a lot to choose!

    Love,

    Babz

    Donde Esta?

Where will all these wonderful things be held?  Will there be something at the conference with all this information?  I hate to print it out and then have it there anyways.

Yes, there will be an online brochure and a
    handout

To reduce paper, there will be an online and downloadable full conference brochure, but there will also be a much-reduced handout with a legend of what you can find where.

We're also working on a widget-y thing that you can have on your mobile :)

    Thanks for mentioning the homework!

If food bloggers all show up with their homework, maybe class can get out five minutes early so no one is late for the lunch with Rocco!

Still looking for an extra pass!

Please let me know if you have an extra pass to sell!   Many thanks.

    Hi there....sorry if I'm out

Hi there....sorry if I'm out of the loop but is this something I need to sign up for?  Or just show up?  Thanks!

    To attend these sessions...

You just show up for the one(s) you're interested in. Elisa and Kristy have scheduled them and the "hosts" will be there waiting to meet you.

    Slightly different from agenda

I'm confused. The agenda is slightly different from the schedule listed here. Is this is the final schedule, and the agenda will be updated?

Suzanne Reisman, Contributing Editor - Feminism & Gender
Campaign for Unshaved Snatch (CUSS) & Other Rants

can you be more specific Suzanne?

I did not intend for there to be any differences.

But please note that because the above sessions are occuring *two* per regular break-out sessions, they are LISTED in the agenda under the overall breakout session, but have slightly different RUN TIMES. Still, they are listed in the agenda with the times above, depsite that confusion.

So, can you give me a specific example to review and make sure I transferred the info correctly?

    Thanks!

Clear on the double run times now...

Thanks for reminding me to read further down on the agenda. I'm now clear on the meeting times, although confused about other things.

I want to meet everyone but I don't have a
    pass

Do I need a conference pass to attend the meet-ups?

I wasn't able to get a ticket but I am still attending to meet fellow bloggers. I'd love the opportunity to attend the meet-ups too!!

    Love, Fashion Paramedic!

Sorry Fashion Paramedic, you need a pass

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but yes, you do need a conference pass to attend any of the conference programming, including the BIrds of a Feather and Room of Your Own meet-ups.

    :(
