Finding My Cyber Prince Charming
By magenta9183 on June 18, 2014
Love and sex in my town are hard to come by. I am artsy, cultured, and progressively minded. I feel like this type draws little romantic interest in a town like this. The lack of men leaves me alone and bored when I go out instead of engaging in good conversation with a member of the opposite sex.
When my lonliness took over I decided that I would give the world of online dating a chance. I began to think I would have more luck on the internet. Beng online did expand my dating poole, but not as I thought it might. Men in my area tend to prefer roughneck type ladies with aweful taste in clothing and even worse taste in the opposite sex. I need someone who is smart, informed, well read, and caring.
With that said, the bad on these sites frequently outweighs the good. One man invited himself to visit me and he looked nothing like his profile pictures. I am an adult and I handled the situation as I should have, but why would someone not put up recent pictures? Another young man is still attempting to contact me in any way he can. I have not shown any interest or answered any messages for almost a year.
These interactions make me feel awkward and disenfranchised about online dating. I suppose I don't delete the account because im attached to the idea that one day I will find someone right for me. After four years, I am beginning to question that notion. Should I keep trying online dating? I suppose giving up all together may be a little drastic since I have even less options in the world of Elkins WV.
