Today a first happened.
I turned down bread at a restaurant. Yeast rolls to be specific.
This paleo diet is still off to a wobbly start but it's going well. I haven't had any cheese but I did slip up and get a coffee with skim milk in it (my friend invited me and my diet slipped my mind) and today I had chicken tenders which were obviously covered in breading.
But the important thing is I'm trying. I've not had any cheese (my main downfall because of all it's fat) and I haven't had any exceptional quantities of bread (aka I haven't eaten a slice of bread or a roll, just whatever was on the chicken tenders.)
I went to Mama Dips today with my parents who very lovingly came to visit me and fix up my bathroom and a chair. It's very traditional country style cooking so my options were limited and while I could have admittedly avoided the breading, I was already denying myself of the sides that I would normally want (aka mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy) so I let this one go.
It's definitely progress, not perfection.
