"First Love is always Treasured" - I recollected from the Movie - LITTLE MANHATTAN

Just few days ago, I was actually struggling to sleep, even though I was too tired to do anything after my office hectic routine. So I switched on my TV and started hopping channels and suddenly stopped on one of the movie channels in which there was this movie that had just started.
I found it interesting and started watching it. The name of the Movie was “LITTLE MANHATTAN”.

Though it was filmed on child actors, but it was a true characterization of your ‘FIRST LOVE’. Childhood is an innocent phase where you do not know what is right and what is wrong. You do whatever you think is true for you and that gives you contentment of being loved.

It was a romantic comedy movie released in the year 2005 and directed by Mark Levin and Jennifer Flackett. The story was based in the city Manhattan.

A sixth grade boy Gabe (Josh Hutcherson) meets his kindergarten mate Rosemary Telesco (Charlie Ray). He started spending time with her and after finding her in the same karate class in which he was practicing, he found himself inclined towards her.
He finds excuses to be with her either by showing her the Central Park or by inviting her to learn karate in his own house. Meanwhile, he also told her that his parents are planning to get divorced and this gives them an idea to search a home for his father as he needed to walk out from the home in case they get separated.

Once they are done searching an apartment for his father, he found out that Rosemary will soon be leaving for Summer Camp for six long weeks. Before going, her parents invite Gabe to join them to listen to a jazz pianist, where the two young kids finally held hands and later Gabe kissed her for the first time.

In the course of time, Gabe realized that he does not have much time to show his feelings for her. His father also explains him that the reason of his parent’s broken marriage is lot of things were left unsaid from both the sides.

Gabe then, goes in search of Rosemary to a wedding function. He found her there and declared his love for her. But, Rosemary tell him that she is not ready for this commitment as she thinks she is too young to think about all these things right now. She wants to be friends with him. Gabe realized that, it was only one sided love and went back to his home where he noticed his parents laughing over their old times. His father then tells him that they have cleared the old things with each other. Gabe felt pleased and elated as his family was together now and at the end he explains his feelings by saying – “I'm never gonna get another first love. That one is always gonna be her."

Such a lovely movie with a great message – “Love is about finding courage inside of you that you didn’t even know was there.”
