Five Things I Hate About Google Chrome

Although Google's Chrome browser has been given accolades by Extreme Tech and others for its speed I have five things I hate about the browser as an end user. Functionality is more important than speed.

  •  It drops the flash constantly.

Chrome was designed to allow only certain programs to crash with out crashing the whole browser and all of its tabs. This is a great idea in theory. Unfortunately, flash is the main program that crashes. I never knew how much I used flash or how many sites use it until Chrome kept shutting them down. Sadly, I would still have to restart the browser to get the flash to work again.

  • I can't select and print the selection I only want to print.

Generally I print portions of pages from various sites that I would like to read off-line. Sometimes I want only certain portions of directions from mapquest or their own Google maps. I generally highlight the sections, right click and I can choose to print the whole document or a selection. Chrome does not give me the selection option. So if I want to print my selection I have to open Firefox or IE.

  • Cutting and pasting never got so complicated.

Not sure why cutting and pasting is so complicated in Chrome but using the right-click button seems to be a phenomennon that Google forgot to think about. When ever I cut and paste
