Being back at work has been easier than expected emotionally, but so much harder than expected in terms of time.  I spend most of my non-V time getting things ready for the next day, so I've had very little time to knit or blog this month.  So, you get a post about a blanket square.  One sad, solitary blanket square.  The good news?  It's a cute square that was a pleasure to make!

This is Lady's Rose, a great, free pattern for a 6" square.  My square was going to join other squares in a memorial blanket for a friend who lost her daughter, so I added border repeats to get to 8".  I used some leftover Lion Brand Pound of Love, which I purchased to make my wedding centerpieces.

I don't think I've shared my centerpieces with you before.  Mike and I were married at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, when their amazing Japanese cherry blossoms were in bloom.  I was inspired by a home decor pattern I saw on Ravelry to create cherry blossom branches for our centerpieces.

My mom and sister helped me crochet hundreds of little pink cherry blossoms, and then the amazing Ara Farnam of Rock Paper Scissors Events created the centerpieces (and event design in general) for us.  I could not have loved them more.

A Pound of Love turns out to be a lot of yarn, so that has also been the gift that keeps on giving -- I've made a lot of projects from my leftover skeins.
