Easter Egg Wreath tutorial

I saw this in my local Michael's store for $50. I figured I could replicate it for much less. It didn't take me very long or much money at all. I totally forgot to take photos of my steps (as usual - sorry) but this craft is so easy it isn't really necessary. ...more

DIY Tea Cups - For You Cardboard Recycling Geniuses.

I'll admit I'm not the best blogger in the world. Nor necessarily the best crafter even. I have a problem with craftsmanship. Basically mine sucks and everything I complete still seems just a tad unfinished. Which is why I make soap. No one knows the difference. What I do have a phenomenal knack for though is spotting the awesomeness in other crafters and artists. And to prove it, I present these flippin' awesome paper mache teacups. ...more

How I went internet free on my vacation...and it didn't cost me a thing

A few months ago when I sat down to plan my vacation to Florida the main things I was concerned about were the flights (being at times that worked for me and were not expensive), the hotel (to be safe and not far from where my friend lived), and saving money towards all the extra things ie. eating out and activities. Never once on my list of things to think about was anything to do with how many blog posts I'd miss out on reading right away, what Facebook status updates I'd be too busy to comment on, or what tweets I should send to let everyone know what I was up to....more

Mama's Last Week in Review - Letter J

Last week seems like a blur to me, so I'm thankful I had the foresight to scribble notes about what we did! We concentrated on the letter J and David bringing the ark of the covenant to Jerusalem. The boys learned a new song, "I've got the Joy down in my heart" and Sweet Pea took to it pretty quickly. We also visited a couple more preschools, one visit inspiring an experiment at home!...more

Mama's Last Week in Review - Letter I

Last week we concentrated on the letter I and the David and Goliath Bible story. This was a fun letter, because it is the first letter in our last name. However, with all the other things going on during the week we didn't do as much as I'd hoped. I do have my first giveaway going on with only 1 comment as of right now...please go to Mom is the Only Girl and check it out!...more

How To Deal With Step Children

StepChildren- The world’s most evil predator. That’s how some people perceive their step kids. Kids from blended families are gonna act out. What kid out there doesn’t want their real mom and dad to be together forever? That’s the issue with most blended families. Step kids can say things like “You can’t tell me what to do” “You’re not my mom” and “I don’t have to listen to you”. When you try to tell other people’s kids what to do, they get offensive. Getting that way can lead to arguements of the adults and children....more
