Force The Fall (DIY Burlap Wreath)

So it's official, Labor Day Weekend is upon us! Seems like everyone has plans to savior the last day's of summer. And while we probably should be joining them in their adventures we really are just craving Fall. With the never ending drought over here dust, heat and summer are honestly growing old. So in attempt to force cooler temps we seem to be dedicating our weekend to fall activities (I am sure we will throw in a lazy picnic or two). So in light of cleaning and prepping for Fall I pulled out this bad boy!

I made this cute wreath a couple seasons back when we lived in our apartment! So I decided an excellent project would be to spruce it up a bit! If you would like to read my previous tutorial on how to make a burlap DIY wreath click here!

So I picked up just a couple flowers from Hobby Lobby and the wooden letter V, all of the remaining supplies I had at home.

I removed the old flowers and incorporated different colors to match the color scheme of our house more, while still taking advantage of the Fall theme! I literally just scrunched in some of this green mesh ribbon while my little guy painted the letter white (because really painting is the funnest part).

And there you have it! I am super happy with the way it turned out! For under $5.00 I was able to update our Fall wreath and it looks brand new! This is such an easy project you can literally choose any color scheme, and throw things together. Perfect for the non-creative person such as myself!

IMG_7775So it may be pushing 100 degrees here this weekend but we are going to be forcing Fall upon ourselves. Hello pumpkin scented candles, moderately watered lawns, and burlap deco. Before long you might just be seeing us do a rain dance, so stay tuned.........Happy Crafting!
