Years ago my nod to Fourth of July fashion was an Old Navy T-shirt with a sparkly American flag on it.  And pretty much every exhausted mom at the town parade had on the exact. same. one.

This year however, I'm going to try harder. Ditch the flag t-shirt. There’s no need to be so literal with your patriotism – you can try a nautical themed tank, a scarf, a pair of red wedges. Here are some ideas that are cute and completely unfrumpy.

1.) ModCloth Ver-million Bucks Dress
2.) ModCloth scarf
3.) Delias Nautical Stripe Dress
4. ) Anthropologie Collecting Dots Dress
5.) Old Navy Maxi Dress
6.) Seychelles Dietrich Heel
7.) Old Navy Tank
8.) Heels.com Iron Fist Wedges

This is all really great! I love to look holiday appropriate without looking cheesy. I've promised myself to never wear holiday themed sweaters, and I do think the Old Navy $5 tee goes along with that promise.

I love both of the striped dresses. Stripes make me feel so pretty- especially navy and white ones. I love to wear anything navy and white striped with bright lipstick.

Happy Fourth of July!

Sadly, I am a t-shirt wearer! But I insist on a v-neck because Stacy and Clinton say so.

I'm looking for suggestions on magazines/websites that provide fashion inspiration for teens/tweens, without being too sexual. Any thoughts?
