I am inspired by Dietrich Bonhoeffer

 I have just finished a book called "Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy" by Eric Metaxas. It is about the famous theologian, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. He lived during the years leading up to the reign of the Third Reich in Germany and during those years. He opposed Hitler is his writings and sermons and speeches. He believed that Christians should seek to know the will of God and then take concrete action in the world in which they find themselves. He taught at an illegal seminary of the Confessing Church which opposed the Hilter run German Christians....more

You know your thinking is a little skewed when you compare your life achievements thus far with Hitler's when he was your age

This weekend I was knitting and watching a show about the history of the Third Reich. Some people veg out or wind down by watching reality shows or sitcoms. I find that there's no better type of show to knit by than documentaries about Adolph Hitler. They abound. If you have cable or Direct TV, never a day goes by when some channel isn't showing "The Rise of the Third Reich" or "Hitler's Astrologist." Some days it's all about the rise. Some days it's all about the fall. Some days it's all about Hitler's favorite vegetables....more
