This morning I woke up to the sun tickling my eyelids. I gave B a peck on the head as I bounced out of bed with Rooney following at my heels. Birds were chirping. The sun was shining. The breeze was warm. Rooney and I felt so invigorated we increased our pace and went on a little jog. When we returned, B had opened all the blinds to let the sun in. He pulled out a small box from behind his back and handed me a very unexpected anniversary gift. Today is the three year anniversary of our first date. And the world is rejoicing with us.
Today, the Mr. and I celebrated two years of together-ness. We've moved internationally *twice,* lived together after dating for three months, traveled through Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, gotten laid off, finished grad school and furnished an apartment entirely off of Craigslist. Which is crazy considering we'd been dating a week and a half. I look at my calendar, and I scold myself for being a little stupid. Or I admire myself for being a little brave.
I wonder what he was thinking when he so quickly asked if we could just date each other. I'd actually canceled a date on the Sunday before to see him instead. I was so fallen.
And here we are. At 6 months.
Today my husband and I celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. Wow! Eleven years! Anyhow, in honor of our anniversary I’m rerunning a post about our code word for love.
Oh, and to tell you that I got him 9 jars various olives: black olives, burgandy olives, kalamata olives, tipsy olives (don’t ask, I don’t know, I thought the name was cute) and and 2 lovely bottles of fancy olive oil. Now, on to that code word ……..
