Today, I am celebrating the new look of my blog with a special treat. A year ago, I did not even know what a blog was. I just had lots of ideas floating around in my head with no place to organize all my thoughts. With the persistent urging of my husband, and a chance meeting with a friend last July 4th at our annual town fireworks, I went home that night and started this blog. My friend had started his own blog not long ago, and encouraged me to just start writing, after all,how else would I learn how to blog or what a blog was all about unless I tried. ...more
My first blog. Not sure how this is going to work for me. I really am not a blogger, let alone a person to be so open about myself. I am already thinking about giving this up and this is just my first post. What do I want to talk about? I guess the best thing for me is to ease myself into this.I am deciding to do things different this time around. Since, I am starting my life all over with God, family, and friends, I figure that I can not keep doing the same thing that has kept me in an alarming state of stress....more

I like to think of myself as a bit of a techie. I can't write code or anything hard-core like that, but I could set up your home network, install a new hard drive (or any other peripheral) in a desktop chassis, upgrade the RAM in anything, and wipe a hard drive and install a new operating system with no problems (including Linux!)....more
I am the 45 year old in the middle of the (virtual) room. Literally. One recent Saturday night there I was, right in the middle of that room. I was participating in a TweetChat (all the 40 year olds are doing this, right?)....more
I have been a full on addict of blog reading for the past few years, but never myself took the leap. I've much enjoyed the tales and lives of others, but couldn't quite pin point my apprehensiveness of joining the realm of "blogging" myself. Was it narcissistic to blog about my life .... would anyone even care? Is blogging as therapuetic as it's rumored to be?
Well, here I am... a brand new baby blogger! Looking to let off a little steam, share in my happiness, and journal my emotions and what-not's on the interweb....more
This is a full-on competition to see who can get most comments, most followers, most page hits, most features, have the most and biggest and best giveaways, etc. People are wrapped up in those figures, and a drop or decrease in those stats often leads even the best bloggers to wonder if they have done something wrong.
This week I'm introducing you to some common Twitter terms. Twitter is pretty popular, but not everyone is well-versed in the lingo and it's a little daunting if you don't know your DM from your RT. As always, I welcome your additional Twitter terms and definitions in the comments on this post. I'll integrate them into the actual post....more
Thank you for sticking with me as I've defined basic blogging terms over the last three weeks. This is the last week for the blogging glossary; next week I'll be defining and discussing social media terms....more
Way back in June of 2006, I found myself surprisingly pregnant with my 3rd child. I'd been blogging under a psuedonym for about 18 months and knew that as much of a great stress release as blogging was, I'd need a new blog to blog about this new chapter in my life. Baby # 3....more
