Today we invite you to share your ideas for sessions and speakers at BlogHer Food '14 -- the Call for Ideas is now open! This call for ideas will remain open for two weeks -- from today until midnight Pacific on Monday, November 4th. BlogHer Food '14 in Miami, FL takes place over May 16 & 17, 2014.
BlogHer Food '13 came and went, inspiring attendees to share their experiences on their own blogs and their social media scapes. We've been following along, checking out what you've been saying about panels, parties and sponsors. Now we bring you a round-up of what's being said. Whether you attended or not, the posts linked here will give you a broader view of the conference. (Plus: Some attendees were inspired to create recipes! YUM!)
Last weekend I packed up my blogger business cards, planted kisses on Mufasa and the KC kids and headed to Austin for the 5th annual BlogHer Food Conference. All. By. Myself. No backpacks full of coloring books or epi-pens stuffed in my purse, just me, my camera (which I barely used by the way, hence the slew of iPhone and Instagram photos in this post) and a single carry-on bag....more
Day Two of BlogHer Food '13 in Austin has come to a close. It was another busy day full of learning, networking, taking in some of the city and, of course, eating! I gathered up some great tweets, photos and Vine videos to share with you in our post today. As always, it's just one post per session, so be sure to check out the #BlogHerFood hashtag for much more!...more
Happy BlogHer Food '13 day! Everything kicked off in Austin, TX this morning. I worked hard to follow along with the #BlogHerFood hashtag to bring you, as we always do, Day One in Tweets. After two full days of serious blogging business, we are excited to announce the closing keynote at BlogHer Food -- a celebration of the stories behind the meals, an exploration of food’s rich interconnection with culture, memory and discovery. Five members of the BlogHer community will take the stage to read their pieces aloud for conference attendees, as part of the launch of BlogHer's latest community anthology, Roots: Where Food Comes From and Where It Takes Us....more
With BlogHer Food '13 right around the corner, we've been busy getting things together to help your conference weekly run smoothly. Today we're pleased to share with you both our Conference Guide and our Mobile App!...more

It's estimated that there are 750,000 to 1.5 million bats at the height of "bat season." Nope, I didn't know there was a bat season either! But that's when we'll be in Austin for BlogHer Food '13.
Around sunset, these bats take off to go get their food (insects, yum!) and with all of them in flight, it looks like a black cloud emerging from the bridge.
