A Blog Break Feels Great

It feels great.  What a weight lifted from my shoulders.  I'm not thinking about how many days until I must create a new post for my site.  I'm not hoping for any new subscribers.  I'm not wondering if this one will be the 'hit' of the month or the year.  I'm on a blog break.  So, what am I doing here, you might be wondering. ...more

Taking and Break and What it Actually Means

Taking a break doesn't always mean, "Let’s break up". Sometimes it just means let's take some time to ourselves to figure things out separately and then come back and see if/how we can move forward. Most times this is what it means for me, so I'm not too fussy when my partners asks for one. And if I mean "let's break up", that's exactly how I would word it....more

Sanity (or less) in 30 minutes (or more)

Thirty minutes. It’s a relatively short amount of time, right? But I’m convinced these little half-hour segments are the key to a happy life and marriage. A while back, my husband and I realized that there were lots of things we both wanted to do, but felt like we didn’t have time for. As a mom, I sometimes feel like I’m missing out on some things others might take for granted, like a long, hot shower, or uninterrupted sleep. Parents can always find time for their children, but sometimes we neglect to find time for ourselves. We came up with a simple, but life-changing solution....more

Tuesday Disneyday

Sometimes you just need to have a little fun.  The last two weeks have been rather grueling for me.  March is absolutely the worst month to be a teacher and a student too.  It really is the long march to Spring Break!  May had a ton of homework this weekend and my quarter grades are due Wednesday.  The last few days have been work, work, work.  May finished all her hom...more

Now and Then

I took a break yesterday and skipped posting.  I have to admit, it felt pretty good! Trying to maintain posting six days a week on top of attending college full time is challenging.  I needed to take a step back, gather my wits, and relax for a moment.  I went out to lunch with a friend, had a big margarita, and a lot of girl talk.  The perfect recipe for refreshing my spirit!...more

He’s Just Not That Into You

You know how the inner dialogue goes. I certainly do. My twenty-something years are full of journal entries scribbling it out. My ping-pong dialogue looked something like this, and I suspect yours sounds pretty dang similar:He loves me. He must love me. I can tell he really loves me. But then why is he pulling away from me like I suddenly have the cooties? Is it because I came on too strong? Am I too much? Too intense? Too passionate? Too threatening? Too successful? ...more
