The past week has been a-buzz with Katy Perry’s proclamation in her acceptance speech of Billboard’s Woman of The Year Award that she is “not a feminist” followed up by Camille Paglia’s scathing article in The Hollywood Reporter blaming Perry, Taylor Swift and Hollywood for ruining women. While I felt disappointed that Perry made it a point to distance herself from being a “feminist,” I also felt the outrage over her decision to do so had been unfairly disproportionate to the act and perhaps more destructive to “the movement” than Perry’s statement....more

Thanks to Britney Spears' tweeting her "favorite song of the summer" last month, Christian Berishaj, aka ‘Christian TV’, and his new single “When She Turns 18” are getting some great attention. It definitely looks like a good summer ahead for Christian. When it comes to real-life beauty, fashion magazines and ad campaigns are among the last places I think to look, and Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson would be among the last people I'd consider as inspirations, honestly.
It’s 9:39pm on Thursday, January 8, 2009. It’s also the first minute the urge to write has come upon me since sometime in 2007. Actually, the urge started in a few minutes ago, while I was in the shower. In fact, I’m calling this blog The Shower Share, as this is where I do most of my reflecting.
