Like the New Orleans Saints, the 2010 Super Bowl victor, Christopher Ranch Roasted Garlic & Blue Cheese Crab Dip scored the winning touchdown in this year’s Christopher Ranch Garlic Gridiron Challenge.
Move over Botox and facelifts.
Hello, grapefruit, almonds, avocados and garlic.
Why pay for chemicals and surgery, when there are various healthful foods and beverages that can also help prevent aging, in addition to strengthening your health, increasing your energy and improving your mood?
Flavor is a well-orchestrated symphony of the senses.
Nothing beats the experience of sinking your teeth into a perfectly ripe strawberry or a nice juicy peach. However, sometimes the senses fail us--ever felt the disappointment of a piece of fruit that looks and smells exquisite, but just doesn’t taste as good as anticipated?
So how can you select fruit that will deliver mouth watering flavor, bite after bite, every time? Fortunately, we have another resource to support our pursuit of flavor…BRIX!
Now, I don't typically use this blog as a blatant promotional tool for Christopher Ranch. Or, at least, I try not to.
While, yes, the majority of posts do relate to fresh garlic in some manner, and consequently, Christopher Ranch, I do my best to avoid screaming - "use Christopher Ranch products - they're the best products EVER!" I try to utilize a little tact, which isn't always an easy thing for me to do.
Garlic can make the difference in a good or a great day.
I'm not suggesting that popping a clove in your mouth while donning your robe is going to make the sun rise, but I am a firm believer that the caliber of your breakfast helps dictate your day. (i.e. - is oatmeal or huevos rancheros going to put more pep in your step? If you cry oatmeal, you lie!)
Unbeknownst to many, garlic is an exquisite breakfast ingredient.
I had breakfast next to Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon yesterday.
True, this has absolutely nothing to do with garlic or my post, but I can't stop thinking about it and thought it was a good attention grabber.
Okay - it's out of my system. We can proceed. However, for all of you wondering, they are both as good looking - if not more so - than they appear on the big screen.
Where was I? Oh, yes...back to California heirloom garlic.
I stood there with my mouth agape at a recent convention, when a boy, who couldn't have been older than four, chose - on his own - to scoop a spoonful of fresh, crushed California heirloom garlic into his mouth and responded with a, "Yummy!"
To that, his mom shrugged and said, "I've cooked with garlic a lot ever since he was a baby, so he's used to it."
Ahh…..how I love the South’s hospitality and ambiance…
It was evident when I first arrived in Knoxville, Tennessee yesterday, and my cab driver did three things you don’t find in LA: he helped me into the cab, called me ma’am (definitely not necessary, but very indicative of the South) and even engaged me in friendly conversation (beyond asking me where I was going and arguing about the rate).
They say all good things must come to an end.
That is definitely true when it comes to wrapping up harvest of Christopher Ranch’s California heirloom garlic. Sad face.
Our harvest throughout California’s Central Valley is nearing a close, expected to wind down in late August or early September, after commencing in early June. Time sure does fly when you’re growing garlic.
