Happy Eastoverversary!

This is a weird week, for several reasons. First of all, after a very mild winter with very little snow (much to my snow-day-driven children’s dismay), I sit here on my computer watching the freakishly large snowflakes drive in whirls and swirls past my window - and around a large black dog roaming through the wooded area next to the house. Wedding card

We've got a wedding coming up, and over the long (and rainy) weekend, I came up with this to go along with their present.  (Gift = an engraved cake knife/server set with their names and wedding date, plus cash.  Hey, I'm half Asian and the bride is Asian, so it's not a huge faux pas in our culture.) ...more

St. Paddy's Day is Almost Here!

This year St. Paddy’s day will be celebrated on March 15th, rather than the usual date of March 17th. This is to avoid it falling on the Holy Week of the Catholic Church. The last time this happened was in 1940 to avoid it falling on Palm Sunday. So the year 2008 is a special year, indeed! And even if you’re not Irish, it’s a wonderful excuse to let go and have some fun! ...more
