Sunday Funday: UNDERPANTS!

Mr. Monkey is semi-starting to potty train, so we've been putting him in Flips trainers during the day.Basically, it's a diaper cover with velcro in the front and back, so you can attach the cloth pads that absorb pee, but it has stretchy sides for pulling them up and down.  Like cloth diaper Pullups.Mr. Monkey has also started trying to dress himself, which is AWESOME for this momma with hands full of newborn baby all the time. These two things met in hilarity this morning, when this happened:...more

Choosing Cloth Diapers For My Babies

I have a tendency to throw myself into new endeavors full-force; to go all out, whole hog, and to try to be the very best (or at least, my very best) within the context of each new experience. Motherhood has certainly been no exception. ...more

Goodbye to Cloth

I'm sad, y'all. You're going to laugh at the reason unless of course you've felt the same way.So here goes...I'm sad because I'm selling the boys' cloth diapers.I know, right? What's wrong with me? This means the end of diapers! Potty training all around! Rejoice!...more

My Kick in the Pants

Since the "green" thing started years ago I've always liked the idea of being nicer to our environment and also thought it would be a good way to save money, but I never knew where to start.  Recently I got a kick in the pants from Yogurt Mama (Little Man's mom).  When she was pregnant with Princess P she decided that she wanted to use cloth diapers.  I was actually really excited because I've heard lots of good things about cloth diapers and thought I would like to try them when I have a baby....more

Cloth Diapering

***Disclaimer*** Poop and pee will be written about, if this is too much for you, you’ve been warned. Okay, I know what you're thinking... cloth diapering? Seriously? But really, I LOVE it! And it's really not as gross and complicated as you think. First off, when I say cloth diapers most think of the flat diapers that you have to fold and use safety pins that our mothers used 20+ years ago (yes, those are still out there, but I don't use them)....more

the end of an era

The first badge of our natural family "status" was folded up and put away when Buckaroo began walking. As if right on cue, he took his first steps immediately after his first birthday: and steadfastly refused to be carried in a sling or wrap at any point thereafter. There's simply too much to do and see at ground level, you know?...more

Tidy Tuesday: How to Wash Cloth Diapers

When we are home, we love to use our gDiapers!  I mean we really love to use them!  I am not a big fan of the ingredients and lack of regulations that are implemented with standard disposable diapers.  Even when I want the convenience of disposables, gDiapers have a flushable (you read that right, FLUSHABLE) disposable insert I can use....more

Cloth Diapers vs Disposable Diapers | Why Cloth Diapers are the Best for My Baby and Wallet?

If you are like me you most probably use disposable diapers for your baby or toddler. They are convenient, save time and you never deal with washing. Then why on earth should I use something my grandma has used for her kids? Well, there are so many good reasons to use cloth diapers that you may even like to have another baby only to make things right and better from day one...;) Here are my 2 cents to make you change your mind and choose the best for your baby and wallet (not to mention the planet).Cloth Diapers are Cheaper than Disposables ...more

My Newbie Stash :)

I have been itching to start a blog of my very own because of my "isolation" as a Green momma. I could complain about how hard it is living in the rural conservative tundra that is Arkansas but I'll save that for the next time someone scorns my cloth diapers!...more
