The Chicago Tribune, yesterday morning, couldn't stop beating on Barack Obama. They've been disenfranchised. They've been disappointed. They, as a collective whole, are thinking very seriously about spending the afternoon at home on the couch watching soap operas and eating Ben & Jerry's with a giant spoon. Barack Obama voted to protect telecom immunity, and it hurts. It hurts really really badly.
I think all the talk about women supporters of Hillary Clinton, voting for John McCain, is being overblown by the media. Shocking. Yes, it has been a tough time to be a Hillary supporter. And yes, there are a lot of fresh wounds that will take time to heal. However, I do believe that most women who supported Hillary, did so because of her positions on the issues, and not just because she is a woman. For that reason, I have to believe that after careful consideration of the issues (especially women's issues), Clinton supporters will see that a vote for McCain, would be a vote against women.
The Presidential contenders have been chosen; Republican nominee John McCain will face off against Democratic nominee Barack Obama in the November election. This week, I had the honor of speaking with former U.S.

Rolling Stone's Easter issue.
This evening, Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama once again traded accusations that each had distorted the other's positions on the North American Free Trade Agreement. NAFTA, which was enacted in 1994, is red meat to voters in rust-belt states such as Ohio, where it has been widely blamed for a decline in manufacturing jobs. Both candidates say they've always been concerned about the treaty's impact on jobs, worker safety and the environment.

Today was the long awaited, and highly controversial Florida primary. In the end McCain would defeat Romney, leaving Giuliani in the Republican dust.
With the South Carolina Democratic primary upon us, I'm on pins and needles.
Maybe I'm naive, but I really hadn't anticipated the whole ratcheting up of the gender vs. race issue with the Democrats in the way that it seems to be playing out.

In the analysis and anticipation of the primary votes leading up to Super Tuesday on February 5, one sees consistent references to the "Latino vote." Today's news reports credit Latinos and women with putting Hillary Clinton over the top in Nevada, for example.

Michigan Primary
Michigan voters head to the polls today to cast their ballot in the state's GOP Primary. Polls indicate (do we believe polls anymore?) former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney has a narrow lead over Senator John McCain and everyone is talking unemployment.
Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country -- 7.4 percent, compared with 5 percent nationally.
I came across this article and was wondering if this survey is really accurate, so I am putting this question out to all readers . Do you drive a Hybrid and are you wealthy, educated, active and a Democrat? Do enjoy biking, yoga/pilates or outdoors activities? Do you live in Tuscon, Ariz., San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas?
