Sometimes Chasing Our Dreams Just Makes Us Lose Our Breath

To lose two people we care about in one week has us thinking about all sorts of things, as Marcy has mentioned over at Ordinary Enchantment. Big Things. I've started especially looking at how I spend my time. Am I doing what I love? Am I doing what I love in a manner which befits me and challenges me at the same time? ...more

What Would You Sacrfice for the Life of Your Dreams?

In this American culture, we are raised to believe that we can have anything and everything we could ever dream of. The wider culture tells us that there is nothing we can't have if we want it badly enough. There is nothing that is beyond our reach. Our reach extends far: These beliefs are spreading over the globe like a poison. Unchecked desire leads to obesity of the body, mind, and spirit. ...more

Your Highway to Prosperity

Can you imagine the chaos on a highway with no organized travel routes? Cars would be going in all directions at all speeds until accidents and collisons made movement impossible. Gridlock. Sometimes when we are struggling the best approach is to try easier. ...more

Stick with it; I promise it's crazy and funny. So in my dream I went to work at a whorehouse. (This is where you might be thinking it's a dirty dream.) My 1st day there a bunch of celebrities came in and we (the whores) got to choose who wanted as customers. Well, as I grew up singing Copacabana and Can't Smile Without You, I chose Barry Manilow. ...more

Don't Pay For Secret Information

If I ask you to list what your dreams are right now, can you do it? Think hard How many can you list? How specific are they? If I ask you to list what you are afraid of right now, can you do it? Think hard How many can you list? How specific are they? My experience is that people are much more aware of their fears while their dreams usually are more undefined. One Month Away...

Today is May 13. Little Ricky is due June 13. I know babies rarely come on their due dates, but on time, a little early, late, whatever--we are about a month away from having a real live baby come home with us! Now the fact that I am the size of a house or that I can't walk without back pain or that I have to pee every 15 seconds should have already clued me in to the fact that we are getting close. But there's something about saying "one month" that really makes it....well, real. ...more
