AAA Does Not Give Free Tow New Year's Eve

In a recent post on facebook, it was stated that AAA would be giving FREE tow and ride to people on New Year's Eve. The post that showed up on my timeline stated that you did not have to be a AAA member to take advantage of this offer. As a further benefit the post said that this service would be available from 6p.m. to 6a.m. and was a Nationwide offering. It also asked that readers re-post this to save lives on a national level.  The supposed service was calle "Tipsy Tow"....more

One For The Road

This was a common saying back in the day. People would be trying to leave a party, but no, “come on, one more for the road.” People would stay, there weren’t the drinking and driving laws there are today, people were driving half tanked all the time! There is a drunk driving commercial circulating, I didn’t watch it, but I’ve enclosed the link. I don’t need to watch it, I don’t want to watch it....more

Getting Hit by a Drunk Driver is Not Fun

This is what happened when a drunk 20-something-year-old female slammed into the back of my rental car while I sat at a red light Saturday night. Because of a young woman's irresponsible behavior and reckless choices, I spent the early morning hours today strapped in an uncomfortable neck brace in the emergency room as my back and shoulders were poked and prodded for broken bones.I had to stand uncomfortably in an x-ray booth wearing a lead apron over my 23-week pregnant belly, trusting that the exposure wouldn't be too much for Bug....more

Hate the Act of Drunk Driving Not the Drunk Driver

In religion it is not uncommon to hear the phrase hate the sin not the sinner. When it comes to drunk driving, shouldn’t we take a position to hate drunk driving but not the drunk driver?A story in drunk driving news a short time ago headlines the outcry of a major drunk driving prevention organization’s protest against a drunk driver’s video apology. The apology was posted on YouTube for alleged feedback to find out its effectiveness as a PSA against drunk driving....more

Should Mom's With Multiple DUIs Lose Custody?

There has been plenty of coverage about the dangers of drinking and driving throughout the years, and even more in light of the Diane Schuler tragedy in which eight people were killed. We’ve heard the stories about martini lunch dates, you know, where the nice little social drinking housewives get together and have a couple of cocktails with their girlfriends during lunch while their kids are in school, and then proceed to enter the pick-up lane, retrieve their kids ...more
