Yet Again My Ex Makes Me Want to Spork My Eyes Out

Once AGAIN my ex has demonstrated what a selfish asshole he can be through my kids. They had had a loooong day at a fun event called "Touch a Truck." This event included being able to investigate and be inside various vehicles that kids LOVE, such as firetrucks, police trucks, and various construction equipment. Long story short, they were tired at the end of the day and I ALWAYS put them to bed at 8:30. They got settled and we were starting prayers and then......more

DNR-R (Do Not Resuscitate Relationship)

Exes are exes for a reason. People always want a second chance and we sometimes feel compelled to give them one. We like to reason that they may have changed their ways or they have grown and are different, but 9 times out of 10 they are still the same. If he was a cheater when you were together the first time, then chances are he is still a cheater….just better at his craft. If he was abusive physically, verbally, or emotionally then he more than likely still is abusive. Don’t put your life at risk for him, you got out the first time, you may not be so lucky the second....more

Return of the EX

What are you supposed to do when the ex who broke your heart contacts you after months of silence? My last contact with Mr Ex was 3 months ago – he broke my heart then wrote me a text message telling me to ‘delete my number’. So I got the point, deleted his number and eventually got over him via the rule ‘out of sight, out of mind’. Last Friday night I received an email from him that had ONE WORD in it......”HI”. Seriously, could he not have written anything more? This one little word has brought back a rush of emotions....more

Dating a Man Whom Has Not Fully Processed His Divorce

I learned the art of dating a single dad through good ‘ol trial and error.  I have never been married and I do not have any children. However, I grew up in a divorced household so I experienced it from the perspective of child. Naively, I thought that having such a perspective would be adequate to get me through the minefield of dating a single dad....more

Platonic Politics: Inviting an Ex to Your Wedding

www.TheFeministBride.comPeople are in an uproar because Prince William and Kate Middleton, wedding trendsetters of the 21st century, are (gasp!) inviting their exes to their wedding. People just can’t seem to jump on board with this one, which tells me there are one too many unrepaired, broken hearts out there. If these wedding icons can say to their amorous past, “Let bygones, be bygones,” it’s a little bit of egg on the face to those who can’t....more

Dealing with BF's ex...please help!

So this is my first time writing a blog.. I've been with my boyfriend for almost 4 months now, i have fallen head over heels for him (but not so obviously to him lol). Before we began dating we were very open with eachother and still are. We are allowed to sleep with other people and "play" as we call it, as long as it doesnt effect our personal relationship with eachother. We both have had trouble being faithful to past partners, and dont like being completely restricted, which is why this type of relationship is suitable for us....more

Realizing Purpose Before Letting "The One" Slip Away

It’s funny how people pop into your life—some are just supposed to be around for a moment; either to teach you a lesson or inspire you. Others stay around for a lifetime, constantly teaching you, inspiring you, motivating you, and energizing you.…The difficulty is discerning those people who were meant for a moment in time versus those who were meant for the entire journey…...more

WARNING: RANT AHEAD - from a pissed-off ex-single mom

Being a single mom is hard and, most of the time, it is not something you choose. And I know what I am talking about because I've been there and done that. The reason I want to rant is because I just read an article on the Washington Post online (Single motherhood still rejected by most Americans, poll finds) (and no, I can't post the link, Blogger app doesnt offer insertion of link yet) that really pisses me off....more
