And I Thought I was Aging Gracefully

It started out a day like any other, admiring myself in the mirror, thanking good genetics and plenty of anti-aging cream for a great face. Dreading wrinkles, I started using anti-aging creams at 25. Until yesterday I thought I was doing pretty good, I don't look 46 and goodness knows I don't act it.Deciding to pluck my eyebrows, I leaned into the mirror to see there was something in my brow. I wiped it but it was still there. Wiped it again, still there. What the..? I could not believe what I was seeing! Three gray hairs! This was not happening. One in my right brow, 2 in my left; all close to the bridge of my nose. Like they were building a shiny gray street across my face. Panic set in. How could I have prevented this? Why hadn't I been monitoring my facial hair? When the hell did they show up?...more

No, I Don't Dye My Eyebrows - They Are That Dark

Do Your Eyebrows Need an Update?

I don't know what it is about baby boomers -- maybe it was all the acid -- but a lot of them haven't realized that shaping and grooming your eyebrows will take 10 years off your face. I'm about to head to my 30th college reunion, and I'm already cringing over what I'm going to see -- a bunch of unshaped, heavy caterpillar eyebrows. Think Susan Boyle ... but without the voice.Eyebrows circa 2010...more

Bye~Bye Brows

We bald beauties simply have no control over the loss of our precious hair follicles, especially the ones that are overtly noticeable, such as our eyebrows.  It is something we have come to deal with and accept as an inevitable part of medical hair loss.  We have creatively learned to apply makeup to give the illusion of eyebrows or actually have a tattoo to replace our brows.   We strive to look as normal as possible  - but then again - WHO decides what is ...more
