I have spent the last several hours trying to figure out the phenomenon that is E.L. James' 50 Shades of Grey. The book is selling like hotcakes, based almost exclusively on word-of-mouth buzz and some Goodreads viral magic. According to Good Morning America, 50 Shades of Grey is heating up bedrooms, and it's even been called "mommy porn."
